Don't wag your finger at me

The guy who called last week with a southern accent called again today.  Guess what.  That southern accent somehow disappeared.  So, the guy is not drunk, he just has problems.  I kind of feel bad for him; I think he is lonely.  Anyway, he had another interesting and insane topic on his mind today.  I picked up the phone and the first thing he said is “You know how people in Phoenix, Arizona, use to wag their finger at you.”  I thought, great, here we go again.  So I played along with him for a few minutes.  I told him no one has waged their finger at me, and then he went on telling me about the farmlands (again) where he grew up on and how people use to wag their fingers at him all the time.  I told him it is a different culture in the farmlands, and people are more prone to wag their fingers.  This is a real conversation- I am not making this up.  Then he told me that he visited Washington, DC and nobody waged their fingers there.  I told him that the farther people go from the capital, the more relaxed they feel, and that’s why California is known for having a laid back culture.  After that he wished me a happy Valentine’s Day, and we hung up.  I wonder what he will call about next week.

  1. Well I'm waging my finger at you right now for encouraging him... lol You have to admit that calls like that keep the day interesting. I can't wait to hear what happens next week. Great post!

  2. After you're done with the internship, you could write a pretty interesting book about your experience with "the caller".
